Health Habits Coronavirus Has Introduced

Marie Miguel

The pandemic is still in full surge, with many cases increasing and deaths also surging, there are some habits which have been introduced that we all should be taking into account. These are health habits that aren’t just good for COVID, but also for the flu and other sickness in general.  Here, we’ll go over the health habits that coronavirus has introduced, but really apply to any virus, no matter the type.

Washing Hands

Washing hands might seem like a trivial activity, but it also helps prevent the spread of viruses. Even just washing your hands for 20 seconds is good.

While COVID is an airborne virus, if the particles get into the surface, they can exist there for a while, and thankfully, washing hands can prevent the spread of this, and make things easier.

Wearing Masks

While Japan and other countries were wearing masks way before the pandemic, you can look at how they’re handling cases, and it’s much smoother than other countries.

Wearing masks may not be a fun activity for some, but it can help limit the coronavirus particles in the air.

Remember that this virus is still something we don’t fully know the extent of, and if you wear a mask when you’re sick period, you’re not spreading your germs as much, and it can be kept contained.

Sanitize it Up!

Seriously, you probably may not realize how gross your home is until you start sanitizing it.  These germs can exist in your home, get everyone sick, and it’s not fun.  Sanitizing your hands, but also the space that you’re in, is a great thing, and it can offer many different health benefits to you as well.

Consider getting a small bottle and re-filling it up, so you have hand sanitizer wherever you go. It’s good for your masks too, and it’s a fun way to truly take care of yourself.

Distance Yourself

While distance learning is not something most of us are used to, distancing yourself, especially if you’re not feeling good is a habit we all could do better with.

Germs spread fast, and while not every disease is as contagious as COVID is, it’s still something that can harm your health if you’re not careful.

Keeping your distance and taking care of your own health is essential, and it can be something that can ultimately help you keep away from sickness.

That means keep your distance from others, especially if you’re sick, and if you have to go somewhere, even with a cold, wear a mask and wash/sanitize your hands and spaces.

Taking care of your health during the pandemic is a good thing, but these health habits also need to happen as well when you are sick.

If you are feeling stressed or burnt out because of the pandemic, you’re not alone. Another big part of your health is your mental health, and that’s something you should take care of as well, not just during a pandemic.  You can go to https://www.mind-diagnostics.org/ to get information on yourself, and also take the time for you to really grasp and understand how you feel, and get the help you need despite the stress of the pandemic in full force.
